Accelerometer data processing with GGIR

NOTE: With the growing amount of functionality in GGIR we have decided to migrate the narrative documentation to the GitHub pages of GGIR. This to ease maintenance and accessibility. Therefore, many of the sections in this vignette have been replaced by a link to their new location.

CURRENT APPLICATIONS

  • The Spanish Ministry of Health uses this device in its national cohort of 200,000 individuals, representative of the population aged 16 to 79 years.
  • The Peking and Beijing University and other organizations in China and USA use this device to assess the CHARLS population, a nationally representative sample of 17,500 Chinese residents aged 45 and older.
  • International research groups are employing the device in their randomized clinical trials involving special populations (e.g., elite athletes, individuals with heart disease, older adults, etc.).
  • The Universities of Oxford and University College London are using our device in validation studies, comparing it with other devices and with data obtained through our wearable camera.
  • It was selected for the first international study to demonstrate its application in primary care and to enable more personalized exercise prescription.
